How to get more pilgrims for your Umrah agency

Most pilgrims still choose an agency on a recommendation, but they check it online before they call. These are the channels that bring enquiries to Umrah and Hajj agencies in India, and how to make each one work.

Ask any pilgrim how they chose their agency and most will say someone recommended it. But between hearing your name and calling you, nearly everyone looks you up: on Google, on Instagram, in the WhatsApp group where someone forwarded your flyer. Marketing an Umrah agency means being found, then being trusted, at each of those moments.

1. Claim your Google Business Profile

When someone searches “Umrah travels near me” or your agency's name, the map and your Google Business Profile appear before any website. It is free. Add your exact office address and hours, your WhatsApp number, photos of your office and your groups (with their permission), and your website. Then ask every returning pilgrim for a review — the number and freshness of reviews are what families compare.

2. A website that answers their questions

Families compare packages on the details: the dates, the named hotels in Makkah and Madinah, the walking distance to the Haram, the price for a quad or a double room, and what is included. A flyer in a WhatsApp group can't hold all of that; a website can, and it can be found on Google months later. Give each package its own page, and show your registration, office address and photos of past groups so people can check you are real. Labbyk builds this kind of Umrah agency website in minutes.

3. Make WhatsApp work for you

  • Use WhatsApp Business, with your logo, address, hours and a catalogue of your packages.
  • Reply quickly. A family messaging three agencies often books with the first one that answers clearly.
  • Use broadcast lists of people who have asked you for updates, rather than adding people to groups without asking.
  • Post on your Status during the trip: the group at the Haram, the hotel view, the Ziyarat. It is the most-watched advert you will ever run.
  • Every link you share — package pages, flyers, ads — should open a chat with you in one tap.

4. Instagram and Facebook

Short videos from your groups (with permission), a walk from the hotel to the Haram, a pilgrim's thank-you message, and practical tips — what to pack, how to perform Tawaf — build trust long before the season. Before the season, a small daily budget on Facebook and Instagram ads aimed at people in your city who are interested in Umrah, with a button that opens WhatsApp, keeps enquiries coming.

Someone searching “Umrah package from Hyderabad” or “Ramadan Umrah package 2027” is ready to book. Google search ads put you at the top for exactly these searches, and you pay only when someone clicks. Use your city name in the keywords, send the click to the matching package page, and block searches that never book, such as “jobs” or “free Umrah”.

6. Flyers people forward

The flyer is still how Umrah packages travel through families and WhatsApp groups. Make yours easy to read on a phone: the dates, hotels, Haram distance and price large and clear; your logo, phone number and website on every one; and a QR code or link to the full package. Keep one consistent look so people recognise your agency at a glance. See how Labbyk turns every package into posters and ads.

7. Turn every group into the next one

Your best marketing is a group that comes home happy. Run a pre-departure session so pilgrims know what to expect, look after them on the ground, and follow up a week after they return: share the group photos, ask for a Google review, and thank them with a small gift or a discount for the family members they refer.

8. Be present in the community

Offer a free “How to perform Umrah” session at a local masjid, community hall or online, with a scholar to answer questions. It helps people whatever agency they choose, and the ones who are ready to go will remember who taught them. Share good guides too, like our step-by-step Umrah guide.

9. Plan around the season

Umrah demand rises sharply for Ramadan, the December–January school holidays and the summer holidays. Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier every year, so plan from its dates, not from the calendar month. Start promoting two to three months before each peak, when families are deciding, and keep your best hotels for the people who book first.
